Before I was born, my staff asked Rick Young, the scenic designer at Raleigh Little Theatre to paint my room. Here's the action. The most recent photos are at the top.

It's all finished!! Here's the finished night time side of the room. Rick painted one wall a slightly darker purple than the other three -- it is night time on that side afterall. The landscape is hills and trees and a lighthouse (very cool). Tonight Mum & Dad will assemble the crib and start getting my room ready for me.

Here's the finished product. This is the daytime side of the room. Notice the city skyline along the top of the wall. Since the last photos, Rick applied another coat of paint to the walls plus touched up some of the skyline. Then a big cleanup of all the tape and plastic.

Rick came back today and finished off the skyline. If you compare it to yesterday's photos, you can see he's taken off the tape which exposed the building and trees - cool huh? He also painted the fourth wall - a slightly darker purple on the night side of the room. Looks good!

Wall colour! This is the colour of three of the walls, the daytime side (sort of the colour- the flash has washed it out a bit). Dad will take another shot in the daytime.

Rick's back! He spent most of the day here today working on the walls. Here's the stenciling of the skyline. He's drawn on some purple tape, then he cuts out the shapes and paints them in. Very clever.

Here's the finished product (or very near finished) of the nighttime side of my ceiling. Today, Rick overpainted the clouds with black and blue colours. Its very impressive what he's done. Check the other photo, above, of the daytime side too.

Today Rick painted the base layer of the clouds around the moon. He says they aren't finished yet as he has more colours to paint in. He'll be back tomorrow...

Rick worked on clouds today. He airbrushed clouds using multiple colours across the daytime portion of the ceiling, plus some extra colour around the sun. Notice that he's also painted clouds on the wall too - very cool. Cumulous clouds I think!
He'll be back tomorrow - wonder what's next?!

Rick came in today during the day and painted the moon and the sun. Here's the moon in the nighttime part of my ceiling. The sun's on the other side in the daytime. It looks like a real moon, and that's because he based it off a photo of the real thing!

Rick has finished the blending now. A nice smooth transition from daytime to nighttime.

The beginning of the blending of the colours. Rick used a compressed air gun and water to make this effect. Tomorrow, when it dries, he'll use the compressed air with paint to add extra colors. Then, with the base all done, the details will begin!

Rick starting to paint the daytime side of the ceiling. Daytime is on one side of the room and night time is on the other side. Sounds interesting!

Here's the corner of the room before they began. Cream walls and white ceiling. Boring!
