I had a great weekend this weekend. Saturday morning was particularly exciting. My friend from school, Olivia, had her 2nd birthday at Gymboree and I was invited. It was really lots of fun - we played games and climbed all over the equipment. I was very happy to be invited. Manuv from our class was also there. And of course there was cake too. Yummy! You can see some of the photo from our party in my photo blog.
On Saturday night, we went out with Bob & Charlene to Carrabbas, a local Italian restaurant. We'd not eaten there before but it was good food. And the company was excellent. As usual, we went to Caribou afterwards for coffee and I got to share a chocolate chip cookie with Charlene.
Sunday, we were out in the yard. I helped Mummy & Daddy trim all the shrubs around the house. They were very overgrown but we have an electric trimmer so it was pretty easy (especially with my help). We filled ten 30-gallon bags with clippings in about 6 hours total.

Mummy & Daddy ordered pizza for us for dinner tonight. When I saw the box I said "pizza!" and "pizza box". They were very surprised because they've never told me that before.

It's a very exciting week this week. Today I start my transition from the toddler class to the "twos" class. The great thing about the timing is that Olivia and Manuv are also transitioning up this week. Basically, transition involves me spending more and more time in the twos room. So for Monday, I'll be there 9am-11am and the rest of the day back in the toddler room. Tuesday I'll be in twos from 9-lunch, Wednesday 9-1 (my nap time), Thursday 9am-snack and Friday I'll be there all day.
Mummy & Daddy & I have already met my new teachers, Miss Amy and Miss Helena and they're both very nice. Miss Amy has been with this particular school for seven years, and Miss Helena has just started although she's spent many years in schools in New York. She likes my school, she says, because of all the nice windows.

Here's how tonight's discussion went during dinner:
Zoe: More?
Daddy: More what, Zoe?
Zoe: Cheese! More cheese?
Mummy: How do you ask nicely?
Zoe: Please!
Daddy: Now how do you say it all together?
Zoe: Please?
Daddy: You say "More cheese, please Daddy"
Zoe, leaning in to Daddy: Please David!
And then after much laughter, I got more cheese.
Kate's coming over tonight to play with me while Daddy's at theatre and Mummy's at yoga. Yippee!

Red car!
Guess what! I got to ride in Mummy's red car today for the first time - for real! Mummy took me to my school this morning and rather than going in the blue car (our Mazda 6) with me sitting in the back like I normally do, Daddy moved my car seat into the passenger seat of the Audi TT. Mummy disabled the airbag (that's what you're supposed to do) and she strapped me into my car seat.
It was really fun driving in the red car. Mummy put the roof down and we played cool music (Dandy Warhols) all the way to school. I bopped along to the music and put my arms in the air too. I also had my sunglasses on to look even cooler. Once we got to school, I asked Mummy "more?".
I'm not sure I want to go back to the blue car!

I had a fun weekend. On Saturday afternoon, I went to see Amanda's play Alice in Wonderland at her high school. Daddy took some photos of the play with his new fancy lens - he stood at the back of the auditorium. After the play (and more photos) we had dinner with Gerrie before she had to rush back for the evening performance.
On Sunday, we went to the North Carolina State Fair. It was lots of fun and I got to see lots of the animals - chickens, geese, cows, pigs (and piglets), and a big horse. I also saw tractors, and lots of arts and crafts. I also got to go on some rides - I went on a carousel four times! That was really fun, so much so that I cried each time I had to get off. I also went on a bumble bee ride, one that went up and down as it went round and round. There was a big queue for that one so I only went once on that ride. It was fun though, even if a little bit scary. I said "more?" afterwards. I had a corn dog and some icecream to eat (yummy!).
The Fair was so good that I didn't mind that I missed my afternoon nap time (normally 1-3), but once we left to go home in the car about 3:15, I was asleep in 5 seconds!

Sunday morning was silly. We were at home and I got out Mummy's hand bells and gave one to everyone, Daddy, Mummy and me - one for each hand. We then proceeded to run around the house ringing the bells. We ran around the lounge room and into the dining room and kitchen and into the bedroom and closet. I lead the way most of the time, but occasionally Mummy or Daddy would be in front. Very silly, but lots of fun.
In the afternoon, Daddy and I went to the park to play on the slides and to go talk to the ducks. I saw lots of dogs at the park too, taking their owners for a walk. I also saw people fishing from the walkway and they actually caught something right in front of me. I got to see a catfish for the first time.
Last night, Monday night, was fun. Kate Felix ("Wiggle Kate") came over and we played together while Mummy went to Yoga and Daddy was a rehearsals. That was lots of fun as it always was.

I know it's my birthday very soon. I'm getting presents in the mail already! And really cool birthday cards too.

I had a good day today. The highlight was going to the theatre for "tech dinner". This is a dinner that the actors put on for all the tech people in Daddy's play as a thank you. Miss Nelson is Missing opens this coming Friday so this weekend is what they call "tech weekend" where all the sounds and lights are brought into the mix. Pretty clever that I know all this stuff, huh?
My pal Katie is in the play and Gerrie is assistant stage manager but neither were there at tech dinner when I arrived. Gerrie was there earlier because she organised it, but she and Amanda had to go before I arrived to go to Amanda's haunted house thingy. And Katie had to go to work at ABC (the TV station where she now works - did I tell you she got a job there?). Shame I missed them.
Tomorrow is my birthday party. I'm only having a few people over unlike the big bash I had for my first birthday. Still have do have a very nice cake. Look for pictures!
