I've been having a great weekend so far. On Friday night, I went out with Katie and her college room mate Jouhana, and Jouhana's cousin Eman. Us four girls went to the NC State University "Wolfpack" Homecoming Parade. The parade was the beginning of the homecoming celebration -- where graduates come back to their college -- and football matches. It was lots of fun and I even got some beads from a guy in the parade.
Today, Saturday, I got to play with Mummy and Daddy all day. First we went to Daddy's doctor - he's got a hoarse throat from some infection. Then after picking up his antibiotics, we went to the bagel shop for some lunch. Then we went to one of the local flower shops to buys some nice flowers to plant in the front garden. Dad and I played for a hour or so. I practiced my standing, scooting round the coffee table, and generally crawling all over my playroom. Then Dad went to the theatre to run lights for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, while Mum & I played some more and I had a nap. Then a lovely bath and bed (after some mucking around, much to their chagrin).
Bath times have taken an interesting turn of late. I now like to stand up in the bath. You see, now that I can stand up and scoot around places (like the coffee table and the sofa), I like to stand wherever I can. It makes it quite difficult for Dad to bathe me, but I like it!

My newest word is "dug-a-dug-a-dug-a-dug-a-dug". I like it.
I had a good weekend, but Mum & Dad would say I was a bit demanding - wanting to be played with and picked up and stuff. I also cry a bit when they drop me off at daycare - not for long though as I have so much to do there.
I also got my staff to lower my bed one more level. I'm at the lowest level now. What a big girl!

Today, I climbed the stairs for the very first time! I climed to the top all by myself. Daddy was below me making sure I didn't fall backwards or anything, and Mummy was above encouraging me along. I was very pleased with myself when I made it to the top. Most excellent.
And did you know, I've made the news! My pal Katie wrote about me in her article in the NC State Student Newspaper about the Wolfpack Homecoming. I'm famous!
And check out thepainting that I made today!

Today I had a very big day. In the morning we had the carpets cleaned (they needed it, Mummy said), so we all went outside to put flowers in the garden. We bought some yellow and red Pansies last weekend and didn't have a change to plant them until now. So I was out there too in my push chair supervising. It was a nice day out there too. After they got started, I got the impression that they didn't need further guidance and had a nap. It was good too.
After lunch, we got dressed to go out - I wore a very pretty dress. Amanda was in a play that her high school theatre department put on -- Wakefield Theatre Company and Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book. We saw it with Gerrie. I sat with Gerrie the entire time and I watched the entire thing. It was a great show, and I was very quiet and really enjoyed myself. Amanda played "Dari", the childhood friend of Mowgli (the lead character).
After the show, I got to spend some time with Amanda and her friends, while they were taking show photos. Then afterwards, we went to a local pizza/pasta place for a quick dinner (quick because they only had an hour before they had to be back for their next performance). I had some ravioli (from the kid's menu) plus some bread. I had some apple juice to drink as well as a bottle. I also had some vanilla pudding and a bit of Tiramisu and chocolate fudge too. Yum!
I fell asleep on the way home and they changed me into my jammies and put me to bed. No complaining from me - I was exhausted!

I can stand all by myself! I did it yesterday for about 10 seconds! I was standing on my change pad and Daddy had his hands close, and I stood without hanging on to anything. Bit wobbly but.

Dad and I are batching until Wednesday, as Mummy is in New York on a business trip. Party time!
Yesterday was a fun day too. We went shopping in the morning (to Target, to buy me stuff mostly) then we had a nice lunch outside at a local sandwich place. After lunch we all went down for a nap, then I played with Mummy & Daddy outside on the grass and then upstairs in my playroom. I practiced climbing the stairs some more too.

Sick again
I'm sick again. Woke up not feeling very well at all. I was crying and stuff - not my usual self. Daddy took my temperature and it was 99.7°F. That's not officially sick, but after I had my morning bottle, I threw it all up again. Daddy gave me some Ibuprofen and then after a sleep, he took me to the doctor and she said I had a mild case of Herpangina (mouth blisters - not related to Herpes). I was feeling better by the time I got to the doctor, but she said it would be best if I stayed home for the rest of the day (and to play with Dad - yippee!). I'm off my food too, so probably best if I stay home...

Well I'm much better now. Mummy came home Wednesday night (late - while I was asleep) so that was good. I've been back at daycare for the past few days and been enjoying myself as usual. Wednesday was photo day at daycare with a professional photographer. So Daddy got me dressed up in the pretty grey dress I wore to Amanda's play so I'd look nice in the photos. We'll get them back in a few weeks.
On Thursday, we sent flowers to my Aunty Jen in Australia. Thursday was her graduation ceremony at QUT where she was awarded her PhD. Congratulations Doctor Crisp!
Last night (Friday night), I went out with Katie and Jouhana to the mall while my olds went out to dinner by themselves. It was fun being out with them but I was exhausted by the time I went home. I convinced Katie to skip my bath and just put me down to sleep. And I slept until 7:30 or so.
And today, we went to the shops in the late morning (after my mid-morning nap) then we went to the theatre where Daddy helped hung lights in preparation for The Little Prince. It is fun being there and I got to go on a tour of the theatre with Mummy and I crawled around and stuff. Tonight Amanda and Abby are coming over to mind me because Mum & Dad are going out again, to dinner then to see You Can't Take It With You at RLT. Talk about a busy family!

Tonight I did it again - I stood all by myself! I was by the window sill downstairs and I let go and just stood there for maybe 10 seconds. I looked up at everyone with a great big smile. Everyone clapped at me and said how clever I was!

Croup!
It's good to have my Web site back! I now have 1 GB of disk space - four times what I had before. Should be enough for a while.
Alas I'm sick again. This time I have a wicked cough and a very croaky voice. Mummy took me to the doctor and sure enough I've got another infection. This time, croup, an upper respitory tract infection. I've still been in good spirits, but this coughing is tiring. Mummy says that I sound like a seal! The doctor said I should have cold things including popsicles and icecream - yum!
When I sleep, my noising breathing keeps waking me up. Gerrie lent me her vaporizer so the air in my room will stay moist overnight. Dad puts some Vicks Vapourub in front of the steam so as to make it even better. And I've been taking some Ibuprofen and Triaminic to keep my temperature down and to dry up nose. I hope I'll be back at school on Monday.

This photo is from October 9th, when we went to Wakefield High School to see Amanda in her play. I got this photo today from Gerrie - it was from her camera.
Rest assured - I must say I don't like beer that much. It makes screw up my nose. I like wine and champagne much better!

Alas I'm still sick. In fact I was quite miserable this afternoon. When Dad came to pick me up, I was cuddling with one of the teachers but wimpering, and my nose was all runny and I was coughing. Not a happy camper at all. Daddy took me home, gave me some more medicine and a bottle and put me to bed. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow morning so maybe they'll make me feel better. I hope so, especially since it is my birthday this Sunday. I want to be all better before then.

Doctor visit
Daddy and Gerrie took me to the doctor this morning. Gerrie came too because Mummy was in an all-day training class and Dad had a meeting mid-morning he had previously organised (and couldn't cancel). So the doctor was very nice (and he was wearing a SpongeBob SquarePants tie). He said I was still sick and still had Croup - I could have told him that! Anyway, he prescribed me some new drugs, this time a steroid, which should make me better. I was due to have my flu shot today, but that will have to wait as I couldn't have both.
The other news is that the doctor pointed out a tooth! Yes that's right, after 6 months of teething (so my staff say), I have teeth coming out. It's at the top in the front. In my parents' defense, they were expecting new teeth on the bottom. Still, isn't that clever of me! I bumped it at daycare later in the day and it bled a bit and hurt. Miss Eileen looked after me and gave me some ice to suck on so it stopped and I was OK.
So back to the doctor. Gerrie took me to the chemist to get the prescription filled. She's so good to me - I'm so lucky to have such great friends! Daddy had to go to work. While we were waiting, we had some morning tea at the French bakery next door. We had some yummy pastries and the lady in the shop spoke to me in French - I understood her of course!
I spent the rest of the day at daycare. I'm still sick, but better than yesterday so that's progress. Hopefully these new drugs will make a difference.

Health wise, I'm making progress. I don't have the wicked cough anymore, but I still have a bit of a runny nose. Today was fun. Mum & Dad came to my school at 3pm today and brought with them cupcakes and birthday balloons! Plus they brought some chocolates for all the teachers. Nice huh? Sophie and I got to have some little cupcakes. Sophie is my friend in my classroom. I was pretty messy -- getting it all over my hands, mouth, clothes and the floor, but Sophie was much more dainty. Her loss! It was lots of fun. I really like balloons.

Happy birthday to me!
It's my birthday today! I'm getting ready to receive my party guests this morning for a Champagne Brunch. And of course there will be birthday cake!
