Yesterday was my birthday party at Little Gym. I had invited all my friends from my old school (P4 at Bright Horizons) plus all my friends from my new school (Kindergarten at North Raleigh Country Day). Only a few kids couldn't make it (Jacob, Donovan and a few others).

In the morning I had my usual drama class (this time, I got to be in the same class as my friend Hannah), then we went to the party shop to buy things for the goodie bags that all my friends get from me as a thank you for coming to my party. We then had some lunch at Bear Rock Cafe before going home for some quiet time before my party. Daddy got me a new computer game for Kindergartners and First Graders so I played that in the afternoon. Mummy had previously organised a birthday cake from Harris Teeter (a princess one) so Daddy went and got that, then we were off to Little Gym.

It was really great seeing all my friends again. I hadn't seen many of them for a long time. Miss Marisel and Mr John were the ones that ran my party and it was really really fun. Even Daddy got in to playing with us and he had fun being chased by Rachel, Zoe H, and others. We got to do all sorts of fun things in the gym but the highlight was the air track. Even Daddy, and Mason's daddy and Zack's daddy got to go on the airtrack. Miss Maricel and Mr John also showed how to really do some great flips.

Then we all went into the multi-purpose room (I do my dance class in there) for pizza, drinks and cake. Mummy ordered lots of yummy pizza for everyone but of course I just had my cheese pizza. Before we had cake, everyone sang happy birthday to me and I got to blow out the five candles on the cake.

The party was supposed to go from 5:30 - 7:00 but since we were the last party at Little Gym for the day and since it was Miss Maricel (she's the greatest), we got to stay late and keep on partying. Daddy had his iPhone and plugged it into their sound system and played some groovy 80's music (which all the parents liked) from the Pandora Internet radio, but then I wanted to hear some Hannah Montana music instead.

At the end, we cleaned up and gave the rest of the pizza and cake to Maricel and John. Then we were off to Olivia's house for games of Wii. In the end, I didn't play Wii preferring instead to play games with Olivia, Taylor and Zoe Hanks who were also there. It was another late night, but I had a really great time. And there were no arguments about going to bed!

This morning after a bit of a sleep in, I got stuck into opening my presents from the party. I had so many!

Hmmm, now I have an ear ache. I'll probably be going to the doctor tomorrow.

Update 11/3: It's official - I have an ear infection and as of this morning, a burst eardrum.

Well both Daddy and I are feeling much better now. We went to our respective doctors on Monday and got some good drugs (I got my pink yummy Amoxycilin). My ear is much better now and I'm back at school having fun. Today was my Tae Kwan Doe class at school so I got to wear my new martial arts uniform and my white belt with the yellow stripe. And even better news is that Obama won last night. I knew he would.

Citizenship!

Guess where I went to yesterday?! Gerrie & I went with Mummy & Daddy to their citizenship swearing-in ceremony. Yep, my staff are now citizens of the United States of America! They picked me up from school just after lunch time. We then drove to the new US Customs and Immigration Service office and sat in their auditorium. Gerrie and I and all the other guest had to sit or stand at the back so that all the new citizens could sit up front.

The Director of the local office spoke for a few minutes about voting and the reasons some people sought citizenship. Then they played a video about citizenship. The they all stood up and said the oath of alegience. Then a video from the current president (George Bush, but soon to be Barack Obama), then that was it. They then lined up and got their certificates. I then ran over and gave them hugs. There was time at the end to take some nice photos too.

Then just as we were leaving, it actually started snowing! Such fun! It was only flurries and only lasted about 5 minutes, but it was very nice. The four of us then had coffee and chitchat at Caribou. A very pleasant afternoon indeed, especially for a school day!
