Yesterday, we went to see the Durham Bulls play baseball. It was my very first baseball game. Mummy & Daddy picked my up after lunch and we were there till about 4pm. It was a really hot day but luckily we were sitting under cover so at least we weren't in the sun. I got to have an icey drink plus some cotton candy (aka fairy floss).
The really amazing thing was that Mummy got hit with a baseball! We were sitting in our seats on the side of the stadium along the first base line, about the middle from front to back. The batter hit the ball and it came straight at us. It hit Mummy in the chest, just a few centimetres below her chin. Thud! It hurt a lot, but Mummy was very brave. A medic came and spoke with her then took her to the first aid station for a checkup and to give her some ice. It looked like no bones were broken but she'll have a big bruise. The medic gave her 3 baseball hats for each of it, so that was nice.
I'm looking forward to going to the baseball again, but next time, I don't want Mummy to get hit with the ball!
On June 7, I had my dance class show at Little Gym. I showed my ballet skills and my tap skills. Check out my videos. I do this class with Oliva and Taylor and they're in the videos too. There are three videos here - my creative movement dance, tap dance (twice), then when I get my medal.
On Monday, I have the 2nd half of my dance class show - the gym part. Videos from that soon.
Graduation! Today we had our graduation ceremony from preschool. Gerrie, Amanda, Abbie and Gerrie's Mum Pauline were there to wish me well (as well as Mummy & Daddy of course). It was so nice to have everyone there. My teachers Ms Stefanie and Ms Gina are sad that we're all leaving (only about 5-6 of the class are too young to go up to Kindergarten). After the ceremony, we all went back to the classroom for lunch. We brought chicken from Chick-fil-A which was yummy.
First of all, I had my Preschool graduation on Friday morning. Along with Mummy & Daddy, my friends Gerrie, Amanda, Abby, and Gerrie's Mum Pauline all came to see me graduate from Bright Horizons. We said the pledge of allegience and sang some songs for everyone, then we each got awards and our graduation certificates. My award was "most voracious reader" - I love books!
On Friday afternoon, Mummy's cousin Aunty Vaneet from India and my second cousins Amanat and Anayat all arrived from the airport. Mummy and I went to pick them up. Anayat is 11 and Amanat is 6 (only 1.5 years older than me!). We played a lot on Friday night and I stayed up until after 11pm playing with them and watching High School Musical with them.
Then late Friday night, Daddy went to the airport to pick up Grandpa Shiv. I really wanted to stay up late to see him, but by the time he got home about 11:45 I was alseep on the sofa - I was tired! I slept the whole night on the sofa because Vaneet was in the front room, my cousins were in the TV room, and Grandpa Shiv slept in my bed.
On Saturday morning, my cousins slept in but I woke up early as I usually do and watched some TV in Mummy's room. I call both Amanat and Anayat "cousin" because I can't pronounce their names. Vaneet made Pranathas for breakfast, but I didn't want to try any of them. Then, after everyone got ready, all of us (except for Vaneet) went to Little Gym for my end-of-term show of my gym class. It was really good showing my cousins what I can do in gymnastics.
In the afternoon, there was no time for a nap because the three girls went with Mummy to the pool for a quick swim, then we came home and got changed and went to Gerrie & Dick's house for a party to celebrate Amanda's gradutation. And guess what?! Amanda and I graduated on the same day! I had a little bit to eat there - mainly fruit - but I had a lot of fun playing with the other kids that were there.
Unfortunately, we couldn't stay long because I had my own graduation party to go to at 5pm! We all jumped in the cars again (both cars since there are 7 of us) and off to Olivia's house where our party was. Earlier in the morning we transfered the drinks we got (beer and water and juice boxes plus a case of champagne) to Jim & Pam's car so we didn't need to worry about bringing stuff.
Just about everyone from my preschool class was there. It was really fun. We got to play outside since there was lots of shade in Olivia's back yard. We played with lots of Olivia's toys including this rocket launcher where you put the foam rocket on the end of the little hose and stomp on the pillow thingy on the other end, and that makes the rocket fly up in the air. A few times it landed in the trees so either Bob (Mason's daddy) or my Daddy had to throw a ball into the tree to knock it down.
Olivia's daddy Jim cooked burgers and hotdogs on the grill. I had a little bit of a hot dog but I was too busy to eat. Late in the afternoon it started to get dark and cloudy, so I went inside with Amanat and Anayat and a few others and we decorated magnetic photo frames with some stickers. We were all pretty tired when we left - I got home, had a shower, and got put to bed in Mummy's bed after a little bit of quiet TV watching. Daddy slept on the couch.
Sunday was a little quieter. Some of us went to Target, primarily to buy one of those foam rocket launchers, but didn't find one. So I got a High School Musical doll instead (we were each allowed to get one thing). Then Grandpa and I stayed home, while Anayat and Daddy went to the mall to return a Nintendo game she didn't want, and Mummy, Aunty Vaneet and Amanat went out for a drive to see the sights of Raleigh. We had some lunch then everyone had to pack and get taken to the airport. I was quite sad to see my cousins go.
In the late afternoon, Daddy took me to the pool (I like the pool), then we had pizza upstairs while watching "So You Think You Can Dance" on TV (one of my favourite shows) then I was off to bed. I was exhausted!
Then this evening (Monday), I started my brand new class at Little Gym, called Mini Jets with Miss Leanne. It's a special gym class "by invitation only" - you have to have a certain level of skill before you can join. I'll be learning all sort of advanced gymnastics and since there are only three of us in the class (the other two are better at it than me right now), I'm sure I'm going to learn a lot. We had dinner at the nearby Italian restaurant which was good, then home.
Today was bike day at school. I always like bike day as I have a very cool bike and helmet.
More importantly, however: today is my last day in preschool at Bright Horizons. Can you believe that I've spent more than four years there, from the infant room, toddlers, twos, P2 and now P4. My teachers Ms Gina and Ms Stefanie are sad that I'm leaving - I'll really miss them!
Next week, we're spending the week at Myrtle Beach. We'll be catching up with Mark & Brooklyn (and Keever and baby Summey) who are also vacationing down there next week, and maybe also Pam & Jim & Olivia too (if they can get a spot in the RV park next door to our hotel - Pam's family have an RV that is stationed there). I'm really looking forward to going to the beach again.
Then after we get back, I go to my new school, North Raleigh Country Day. I'm going to 6 weeks of day camp there - lots of fun activities plus I'll also be taking swimming lessons too. Some of my friends from preschool are also doing camp there - Olivia and Peyton I think.
Then after my camp weeks, kindergarten starts! Yippee. I'm very excited about that. Olivia and Mason will be going to school there too, along with Zoe Hanks, who used to be in my class last year.
So much to look forward to, but I'm sure I'll be sad to be away from my friends.
