Big girl bed!

My new big girl bed!Guess what?! I'm a big girl now! This afternoon after my nap, Mummy and Daddy took off the rail from the front of my crib and reattached it so that I can now get out of bed all by myself. And, this morning, we went shopping and bought me a set of purple steps so I can get up into my bed, and a new pillow and some princess sheets and a pillow case. How about that! The top sheet is too big for my bed, so Daddy made it a canopy over my bed - very exciting.

Not only that, tonight, for the first time, Mummy read me a story in my bedroom at my bed! It was really good being tucked into bed and then having a story read to me. I liked it. And now that I'm a big girl, Mummy says that I don't need my schnoolie in bed anymore. Sounds plausible.

We called Katie and I told her all about it. She was really excited about it too. We had dinner with her tonight at Winston's. Really good. What do you think about that?

I'm not feeling well todayOverheard at the dinner table:

Zoe: Knock knock I want to come in the house
Mummy: Who's there?
Zoe: Ummm, The wolf
Mummy: Wolf who?
Zoe: I don't like the wolf

I'm not feeling well this evening. Just before pickup time tonight, I was feeling poorly - I was hot and felt quite tired and wanted to have my blanket over me. I had a 101 temperature. When I came home, Daddy let me lay on the sofa with my blanket. I might go to the doctor tomorrow morning.

Yesterday was so much fun. I had Rae and her Mummy and Daddy (Kathleen and Greg) over for a swim in my pool plus a BBQ at our house afterwards. Rae is my best friend at school. I've been talking about it for days. When they first arrived at the door I was so excited that I was jumping around and screaming and everything. Rae ran in and we jumped around and ran around. I was really good. I showed Rae my playroom and my new big girl bed.

Then we went to the pool and we had lots of fun there. We stayed for about an hour or so, then we came home, got changed and Rae and I played some more while the olds were downstairs making dinner. Unlike the last several days, it was quite pleasant outside so we ate dinner on the deck. Daddy made burgers and chicken satay sticks for us, and steak for the grownups. I had some steak too. Rae's Mummy brought some salad too. Then for afters we had chocolate cake (I love chocolate cake). I wanted to go upstairs and play some more, but Rae preferred to stay downstairs as she was getting a bit tired. I was tired too. When they went home about 9:30, I went pretty much straight to bed - I was tired!

Overheard at the sofa, past someone's bedtime

Zoe: I finished all my milk. I want more chocolate milk.
Mummy: Do you need more chocolate milk or you just want to stay up late
Zoe (sheepishly): ...I want to stay up late.

I'm back at school today, hooray! I was off 3 days last week: Tuesday, Wednesday and again Friday. Mummy stayed home with me so that was nice. It was good to be back at school. Manav was supposed to be in London with his sister and Mummy, but they've rescheduled their trip due to all the turmoil over US-Britian flights.

Did you know that since I've been sleeping in my Big Girl bed, I no longer have a schnoolie? I've only asked for it once but that's it! I'm a big girl you know!

My web lackey has implemented a new guest book. Check it out and write me something!

I got a special treat this evening after dinner. Mummy showed me my new Bitty Baby - I got her as a present a while ago (maybe two Christmases ago) from Gerrie, Dick and Amanda. She's an American Girl.

I'm having a pretty good weekend so far. Yesterday, Saturday, I had a packed day. In the morning Daddy and I went to the park to play on the swings and slides and then down to the lake to feed the ducks. As usual, I rode my tricycle (wearing my helmet of course) to the park and then down the hill to the lake, but Daddy carried both me and it on the way back up the hill. When I'm on my tricycle, Daddy makes sure I'm safe - he had tied a rope to the back of my trike and he holds onto it so I don't go to fast.

Back home, I did some painting on my easel then after a short nap (which included coming downstairs and climbing into bed with Mummy while she had a nap), I played with Daddy in the office. Then we got in the car and drove to see my stylist Lewie, where I had a haircut. Mummy and I went to the supermarket while Daddy had his haircut, then back home again, we went to the pool and had lots of fun there.

Back home again, Daddy gave me a bath and I got to watch a Dora on TV while he mowed the grass. We talked to Grandma Dorothy on the telephone (Grandad is off skiing with Peter, Sarah, Uncle Nick and Aunty Jen), had some yummy dinner that Mummy made, then off to bed. My usual trick is to come out of bed once or twice asking for milk or grapes or 5 minutes of TV or something else, but not tonight - I was very tired!

This morning Sunday, started off differently. My usual method is to come out of bed and call out "Daddy" from the catwalk just outside my room. However this morning, I woke up, got out of bed, came down the stairs and went all the way into bed and stood next to Mummy and Daddy's bed and woke them up quietly. Soon, I'm sure I'll be able to climb into their bed too!

And congratulations on Katie's new car - a Toyota Yaris sedan. She and Kate came over on Friday night after I went to bed and had late dinner with Mummy and Daddy and showed it off. I can't wait to ride in it.
